The NHS Friends and Family Test is a simple feedback tool which asks the key question… How likely are you to recommend our service to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?
Responses options range between extremely likely – extremely unlikely and people can leave anonymous comments too.
The friends and family question is incorporated into our Your Experience questionnaire, and our online form. Anyone who contacts the Your Experience team by telephone will also be asked the question.
Feedback from anyone who uses our services is extremely useful as it tells us how we’re doing and helps us to improve services.

Please note that NHS England is currently revising Friends and Family Test guidance for NHS organisations, changes will take effect from 1st April 2020.
The Friends and Family Test scoring system has recently been simplified, so it now just states the percentage of respondents who would/would not recommend the services.
You can see the percentage of respondents who would recommend our services for care or treatment below:
- April 2019 95% (348 responses)
- May 2019 98% (359 responses)
- June 2019 96% (471 responses)
- July 2019 94% (562 responses)
