Joint Chair of Wirral Community Health and Care NHS FT and Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS FT

Sir David Henshaw has been appointed as interim Chair of NHS Cheshire and Merseyside by NHS England and he will be stepping away from his role as Joint Chair of Wirral Community Health and Care NHS FT and Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS FT.

Sir David will take over from Raj Jain who has served as Chair of NHS Cheshire and Merseyside since July 2022.

Steve Igoe will take up position as Acting Joint Chair, agreed with the Councils of Governors of both Trusts.

Steve is a very experienced Non-Executive Director having served on the Board of WUTH for over six years and more recently on the WCHC Board and is committed to leading the two organisations to become a single organisation.
