Here you will find information on what equipment we provide and what we are unable to provide.

If you are eligible for a NHS wheelchair we can provide the following types of equipment, depending on your clinical needs:

Transit (attendant pushed) and self-propelling manual wheelchairs to meet essential mobility needs
Postural support in the wheelchair where clinically necessary
High performance wheelchairs
Buggies for children who need postural support
Powered wheelchairs for indoor use.
Custom contoured or specialist seating when an off-the-shelf solution cannot be found
Pressure cushions for use in the wheelchair
The option of a PWB if they meet criteria for NHS wheelchair

Your wheelchair equipment needs will be determined following a clinical assessment and in relation to the eligibility criteria.

We don’t provide wheelchairs for:

Short term or occasional use
Powered outdoor mobility only
People in care homes (unless in specific circumstances)
Rehabilitation purposes
People whose needs are likely to change within the next 6 months
School/ college use only
Work use only
Sporting activities only
Static seating use
Transportation/ travel purposes only
Moving and handling purposes only
Managing behaviour when the individual can walk/for the purposes of restraint
Children who can be accommodated in a commercially available buggy
Or consider buggies/ wheelchairs for children, until they have reached age related milestones for walking
