Mornings can be busy when you have a family to feed, but easy breakfast ideas are perfect for kids and the entire family.
Healthy breakfast tips
- Try to have different breakfasts throughout the week.
- Start the day well hydrated with water or semi-skimmed milk.
- Choose wholegrain foods where possible eg wholegrain cereal, bread or porridge.
Try to avoid
- Sugary food options such as sugary cereals / cereal bars (more than 5g sugar per 100g), energy drinks and foods high in saturated fat eg fried breakfast, pastries and croissants.
Toast
Wholemeal or granary bread is higher in fibre than white bread.

Cereals
Wheat biscuit, wholegrain cereal or cornflakes – add some fruity goodness too as part of your child’s 5 A Day.

Porridge oats
