Let’s Talk Healthy Lifestyles Service provides a tailored 12-week programme for children aged 5–12 years who are overweight, focusing on areas such as:
- Portion sizes
- Meal preparation
- Reading food labels
- Trying new foods
- Healthy snacking
- Healthy food swaps
- Increasing physical activity
Support is delivered through 1:1 appointments, either:
- Over the telephone with the parent/carer, or
- Face-to-face with the parent/carer and child.
The practitioner will work closely with the family to develop a programme based on the areas identified by the parent or carer, ensuring a truly tailored approach. Goal setting is a key part of the programme, and families will be supported to identify realistic and achievable goals that are meaningful to them.
Throughout the programme, we will share practical tips and strategies that have helped other families across Wirral. The feedback we have received has highlighted the positive impact this support has had, helping families feel more confident and empowered. We are proud to offer a judgement-free service that provides a safe and supportive environment for all families.
Regular engagement is important to help you get the most from the programme and achieve the goals you set for your family. This programme requires commitment, with contact taking place every fortnight over a 12-week period. Before enrolling, please consider whether this is a commitment you are willing and able to make.
We look forward to working with you.
