We are delighted to launch our Big Book of Staff Stories; Reflections during COVID-19 – a collection of heart-warming and inspiring stories from our wonderful staff of their experiences and challenges over the past few months.

We all have our own stories to tell of this strange and challenging time – everyone’s experience is unique. While there has been such sadness and uncertainty, we wanted to capture the positive moments and focus on the good that has come out of working differently, with new colleagues or in new roles. Change often forces us to see things differently and to adapt – it is this that the Big Book reflects on.
The launch of the book coincided with the 72nd anniversary of the NHS, so it is a fitting tribute to the people – staff and volunteers – who make the NHS what it is.
Our staff share their stories of reassignment to other roles, returning to work after retirement and adapting to all of the changes that the pandemic has imposed.
Each and every one of our colleagues has played their part to ensure we have been able to meet the needs of our patients, service users and their families. The Big Book shows how teams have adopted and embraced new technologies and innovations to not only communicate with each other, but to deliver services virtually and ensure we remain connected with our local community.
A huge thank you to our staff who shared their experiences, to compile what is a wonderful collection of must read stories that we can look back on for years to come.
